Check your Sims 4 Mods folder
Looks for hidden programs and risky script mods, and explains what it finds. It runs in your browser: nothing to install, nothing to upload.
Pick your Mods folder, or a zip you have just downloaded and not installed yet. You can also drop them here.
On Windows it is usually in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods. Your browser may say "upload" in its dialog. That is only its wording: this page has no way to send files anywhere.
made from harmless test files.
What this cannot tell you
- It cannot prove a file is harmless. New malware can be written to avoid these checks.
- It reads code, it does not run it, so it cannot see what a mod really does when the game loads it.
- It cannot see whether your computer is already infected. If you think it is, use real antivirus and read these steps.
- It does not look at what mods do in game, so it says nothing about broken or outdated mods.
How your files stay private
Everything runs in this browser tab. The site tells your browser to refuse every network connection from this page, so it could not send your files even if it tried. To see for yourself, load this page, turn off your internet, and scan.
What it looks for
- Programs and scripts that have no business in Mods, such as
.exeor.batfiles, even when renamed. - Script mods that can download and start programs, reach for password stores, or hide code. It reads the compiled Python itself, not just the file name.
- File names, markers and fingerprints from published incidents.
- A
.ts4scriptarriving with plain custom content, which is how the March 2026 attack looked. - Files too deep to load, exact duplicates, and damaged packages.
Many good script mods go online, for example to check for updates. When that is all a mod does, this page says so and does not treat it as a threat.
How this differs from other tools
Other tools do good work, and some do things this page cannot. ModGuard is a mod that protects you while the game runs, so keep using it if you have it. This page is for the step before that: it reads files before they reach your game, with no program to install and no account, and your files stay on your device. That matters when the worry is a strange download. See how the tools compare.
